Rabbit vs. Football

Holy crap! Amazing bloopy 3D! I didn’t believe it until I saw the wireframe at the end.

From Swedish studio Meindbender. Before I saw this CGTalk thread I wrote to ask them how they did it; Olov Burman, director and animator, attributes the clay look to rigging by Tony Österlund and shading by Michael Bengtsson.

…there are no big secrets to it really. Blendshapes for the extreme poses and squash and stretch functions for arms legs and body. Before we started rigging we knew exactly what the rabbit would do in the clip.

That’s the key right there — it looks like stop motion because, essentially, that’s what it is. You can’t fake a good plan.
